I'll tell you my story as a guy who have lots of ladies best friends. There are some differences. I see some girls as my sisters so we became best friends, because I was never physically attracted towards those girls so we can remain friends , but I also became close friends or best friends with some to get close and win her heart and even if she have boyfriend, just wait for correct opportunity if they ever broke up, you are there to fill that part . But those girls can't never decide what is the main purpose of that guy? To have sister/brother kinda healthy friendly relationship or the guy pretending to be best friend but is actually waiting for correct opportunity. And I'm saying this from my experience.
